Union Gospel Mission Clinic
Introduction
Union Gospel Mission (UGM) is a student-run free clinic run by UTSW students serving the homeless community in Dallas, TX. We have a men’s and women’s shelter. Volunteers’ roles vary between the two clinics but are primarily focused on signing in patients, taking vitals, handing out supplies and reading glasses, and resetting rooms. In addition, volunteers may learn how to take manual blood pressures, use an EKG machine, administer vaccines, and check blood sugar.
