President
Abigail Nguyen
Abigail is a senior Neuroscience major and Spanish minor on the pre-medical track. In addition to being president of AED, she is involved in undergraduate research and is a part of the Vietnamese Student Association. Abigail participated in a study abroad program in Spain this past year. She also works as an EMT and a private tutor, and she is a junior board member for St. Faustina’s Outreach, a charity organization for Vietnamese orphanages. Abigail loves reading, traveling, keeping up with F1, and a sweet little treat! She is excited to return to the officer board for AED and interact with new and returning members.

Vice President
Alec Alarakhia
Alec is a senior Healthcare Studies major on the pre-medical track. In addition to being vice president for AED, Alec is a Supplemental Instruction leader at UTD, a Patient Care Technician at Baylor Scott & White, and a K-12 tutor at a local mosque. In his free time, he loves hiking, finding new and exciting restaurants around Dallas, researching UTIs, and cooking meals for his friends and family. He is excited to be part of the AED board and help students get involved in their community!

Co Secretary
Raina Karakkattil
Raina is a junior Neuroscience major on the pre-medical track. Aside from serving as a Secretary for AED, Raina is involved in undergraduate research and serves as a PLTL leader for General Chemistry, the Vice President for the UTD South Asian American Voter Empowerment Club, Head Liaison for Aaja Nachale (DFW’s Premier Fusion Dance Competition), and a mentor in the Freshman Mentor Program. In her free time, she enjoys trying new food places with her friends, traveling to exciting places, dancing, shopping, and getting lost in a good book. She is thrilled to return to the AED officer board and looks forward to another impactful year serving its members.

Co Secretary
Ryan Ju
Ryan is a Junior biology major who is on the pre-medical track. Aside from serving as a Secretary for AED, Ryan is a Lifeguard Supervisor, a volunteer tutor for underprivileged kids, an EMT, and an undergraduate researcher in the Axon Biology and Neuroinformatics lab. In his free time, Ryan enjoys visiting national parks, playing and watching sports, and relaxing with friends and family. He is super excited to return to the AED board and continue serving AED.

Treasurer
Adeena Zaidi
Adeena is a junior Neuroscience on the Pre-Medical track and is interested in neurology and surgery. This will be her third year as a member and is looking forward to meeting the new members in the aed events this year. Outside of AED, Adeena is a member of the Collegium V Honors Program and is an officer of Kesem Organization at UTD. She is currently doing clinical research at Dallas Regional Medical Center to help with Alzheimer’s patients, shadows in multiple family medicine clinics, and is EMT certified. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, reading books, and spending time with friends and family. Adeena She is excited about her 3rd year in AED and learning new skill sets with her treasury position!

Service Coordinator
Noah Tao
Noah is a senior Psychology major with minors in Biology and Neuroscience on the pre-medical track. He currently serves as the Service Coordinator for AED and is actively involved in undergraduate research. Noah is the captain of the FSA GoodPhil soccer team and the Vice President of Heroes United FC, a community soccer club for neurodivergent individuals. He also works as the Clinical Coordinator at Union Gospel Mission, helping provide care to underserved populations. In his free time, Noah enjoys playing soccer and basketball, as well as exploring new restaurants with friends. He is excited to return to the AED officer board and looking forward to seeing everyone at this year’s AED events!

Service Coordinator
Shrujin Shah
Shrujin is a senior Neuroscience major and Art History minor on the pre-medical track. In addition to being a service coordinator for AED, Shrujin is on the competitive club tennis team, an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Engineer’s Auditory lab, founder and president of the day-trading and investment organization Zero to Hero, and an ESL volunteer for Comets READ. In his free time, Shrujin works as a medical assistant at both a family practice and a nonprofit clinic, and likes to play volleyball and ride his motorcycle. This past summer, he was a parasitology research intern at the University of Glasgow! He is extremely excited about laying the foundation for countless individuals as they embark on their journey toward a career in healthcare.

Social Coordinator
Isabella Pitre
Isabella is a Biomedical Sciences major with a minor in psychology on the Pre-Dental track. Outside of AED Isabella is a part of Win STEM, member of a female workout group CHAARG, a dental assistant, and a member of the Pre-Dental Association along with the Women’s Dental Society. She is also involved in the First Year Leader program and is a Peer Advisor on campus. In her free time she enjoys running, playing piano, and going out to concerts. She is so excited to continue working with AED and get to know everyone!

Social Coordinator
Jason Ly
Jason is a junior Biology major on the pre-dental track. Aside from being social coordinator for AED, Jason is also UTD’s Pre-Dental Association’s event coordinator, as well as a first-year leader. In his free time, Jason enjoys eating out with friends, playing pickleball, and watching movies. He is excited about getting to know the new and returning members better through AED’s social event this year.

Fundraising Coordinator
Allee St. Amant
Allee is a junior Biology major on the Pre-Physician Assistant track. In addition to being the fundraising coordinator of AED, she is involved in Win STEM, the Pre-PA Society, UTD Theatre, and serves as a mentor through the Freshman Mentor Program. Allee also works as a health assistant at Pine Cove Ranch, providing hands-on support in the camp’s medical clinic. On campus, she serves as a student ambassador and tour guide for the Visitor Center, helping prospective students get to know UTD. In her free time, you’ll likely find her playing the ukulele, wandering aimlessly through Trader Joe’s, or thrifting.

Historian
Kristine Narita
Kristine is a senior double major in Biology and Healthcare Management on the Pre-Dental track. This will be her fourth year as a member of AED and her second year serving as part of the officer board. Outside of AED, Kristine is a PLTL leader for general chemistry, volunteers as an EMT in the UEMR agency, and is a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). She is also vice president of UNICEF at UTD, part of the Board of Directors in Win STEM, and a member of the Pre-Dental Association (PDA) as well as the Women’s Dental Society (WDS). Kristine is an avid reader in her free time, and enjoys traveling with her family.

Webmaster
Ojas Kaveeshwar
Ojas is a junior Computer Science major on the pre-medical track. In addition to serving as the webmaster for AED, Ojas is involved in undergraduate research and clinical volunteering. He is also currently shadowing a psychiatrist at Texas Health Dallas. In his free time, Ojas loves to paint, read mystery novels, go for long jogs, and watch the Dallas Mavs play. As one of the newest leaders on the AED Officer Board, he is very excited to be interacting with other officers and members.

Clinical Outreach Coordinator
Riya Sanghani
Riya is a junior Healthcare Studies major on the Pre-Dental track. In addition to AED, Riya is a mentor in the Freshman Mentor Program, serves as a First-Year Leader, and works at a dental office. She is involved in several pre-dental organizations, including the Pre-Dental Association and Dental Connection Network, where she serves as an Engagement Officer. She is also the co-president of the Care Crafts Project, a service organization at UTD. In her free time, Riya enjoys reading books, traveling, and watching movies with her family. She is so excited to find diverse and fun clinical opportunities for new and returning members!

Clinical Outreach Chair
Megan Sanguedolce
Megan is a junior Neuroscience major, with a minor in Biology and MASH (medicine, arts, science, and humanities), on the Pre-Med track. She is working to expand the clinic outreach for AED by creating partnerships with local clinics, hospitals, and non-profits to create shadowing and clinic volunteer opportunities for members and help create a positive impact on the community. Currently, she works for the SOC as an office assistant working in special academic room reservations and as a medical scribe in the ER. Outside of academics, she loves to spend time outside by exploring national and state parks.

Aali Shah
Aali is a sophomore Biology major with a minor in Psychology on the pre-medical track. Alongside being a service chair for AED, he is also involved in HOSA, where he competes on the state and international level. Aali is a Medical Assistant at a clinic in Dallas, and in his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and coaching debate. He’s excited to meet all the new and returning AED members and work with them to make this year’s service events engaging, fun, and memorable!

Amir Khalili
Amir is a junior Biology major in the Collegium V Honors Program on the pre-medical track. In addition to serving as Service Chair for AED, he is involved in UTeach and serves as a First Year Leader, helping support and guide incoming students. Amir conducts undergraduate research on the basal ganglia and is currently part of the Texas Emergency Medicine Research Associates Program. He also serves as an event coordinator for the Dallas Persian Association. Outside of academics, Amir enjoys volunteering, playing badminton, going on runs, and winding down with late-night study sessions and lo-fi music. He’s excited to serve on the AED officer board and looks forward to building connections through service and community engagement.

Katie Vu
Katie is a junior Biology major and Neuroscience minor on the Pre-Anesthesiologist Assistant track. In addition to her role as service chair in AED, Katie is a part of the leadership board in the Texas Emergency Medicine research associates program, and conducts undergraduate research at the UNT HSC Cerebral and Cardiovascular lab. She also works as a Pharmacy Technician, volunteers abroad with Vida in Guatemala, and serves the youth in the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement. Katie loves traveling to new places, making clay trinkets, and a good cup of matcha! She is excited to join the AED officer board and expand AED’s service events to reach diverse communities.

Leanne is a sophomore Biology major on the pre-medical track. Outside of AED, Leanne also works as a medical assistant at a gastroenterology clinic. In her free time, she enjoys cafe hopping with her friends and loves to collect figurines. She is excited to meet all the members and create lots of fun memories with everyone!

Leyna Tran
Leyna is a sophomore Biology major and Psychology minor on the pre-medical track. Outside of AED, Leyna is involved in Molding Doctors and she also works as a Clinical Medical Assistant at a family practice. She also volunteers at an ophthalmology clinic and assists with basic eye exams for children in underserved areas. Leyna enjoys whisking up a cup of matcha and cooking with friends in her free time! She is looking forward to organizing impactful service events and getting to know everyone at AED!

Pranav Swarna
Pranav is a senior Neuroscience major on the pre-medical track. In addition to serving as the Service Chair for AED, he works as a medical scribe and conducts undergraduate research at a UT Southwestern lab. Outside of academics, Pranav enjoys playing basketball with friends, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, spending time with family, and enjoys going to the gym to workout. He can’t wait to help lead meaningful service initiatives this year and get to know both new and familiar faces in AED.

Shriman Thandra
Shriman is a sophomore Biology major and IPE minor on the pre-medical track. Alongside serving as a service chair, he is an Eagle Scout, and works as an EMT at a nephrology clinic. Beyond academics Shriman enjoys going to the gym, playing Halo, and learning new languages. He is looking forward to organizing and leading impactful service events this year, and making more new connections with AED members.

Katelyn Luu
Katelyn is a junior Healthcare Studies major and Psychology minor on the Pre-Medical track. In addition to AED, she is a part of the Filipino Student Association’s media team and volunteers at a local hospice. She is also currently working as a Medical Assistant at a family practice. In her free time, she loves taking pictures, dancing, going to concerts, and exploring different matcha spots in the Dallas area. She is excited to create fun social events and get to know everyone in AED!

Audrey Popiolek
Audrey is a junior Neuroscience major on the Pre-PA track. In addition to being the fundraising chair for AED, Audrey is the secretary for the Neuroscience Student Association, and a member of the Pre-PA Society. She is involved in undergraduate research regarding brain aging and its risk factors. She also works as a Pharmacy Technician and in childcare at the YMCA. Audrey loves reading, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends! She is excited to join the officer board for AED and create great fundraising events for members.
